Hickory Trail Senior Living

Hickory Trail Senior Living will be the newest assisted living facility to Iowa City opening in 2024. It will be approximately 130,000 total square feet and include 120 apartment homes for assisted living and memory care residents. The new community is adjacent to Hickory Hill Park on the Northeast side of town.

As part of our commitment to the environment and the conservation efforts of the park, we will be making a 38-acre land donation to Iowa City, the largest donation of land in the history of the park. That land will be preserved forever and incorporated into Hickory Hill Park for everyone to enjoy.

Our assisted living and memory care residents will have access to the park and the serenity and connection to nature it provides, while also being a short drive to downtown Iowa City and the University of Iowa, and close to many other amenities seniors want.

Pinnacle Prairie

Slated to open in early 2024, Pinnacle Prairie is Nelson’s upcoming development of a 108-unit assisted living facility in Cedar Falls, IA. Situated along Prairie Parkway, it will be a part of the Pinnacle Prairie commercial district, which includes nearby churches, senior apartments, and medical facilities.
